Next year, the Citizens Utility Board will celebrate 25 years of fighting for Illinois utility customers. Since its inception in 1984, CUB has saved consumers more than $10 billion by blocking rate hikes, winning customer refunds and providing money-saving advice.
When electric rates skyrocketed in 2007, CUB worked tirelessly in Springfield to win rate relief for consumers. Thanks to CUB's efforts, the state legislature approved an electric utility reform law that provided over $1 billion in refunds to customers and also rolled-back a loophole that had raised electric rates for condominium common areas by more than 200 percent for most buildings.
Your donation to CUB's Consumer Education and Research Fund (CERF), will help us continue and expand our education and outreach programs which are saving Illinois consumers millions of dollars a year on their telephone and energy bills.
